Identification of QTL for resistance to head smut in maize (Zea mays. L)

چکیده
Head smut (HS) is one of the most devastating diseases maize in spring production regions China. Quantitative trait loci (QTL) for HS resistance were identified this study to provide theoretical and applied tools breeding maize. QTL associated with a F2:3 population derived from T32 (highly resistant genotype) × HC susceptible cross. Analysis each three environments collective analysis across all used identify population. A significant difference was found between inbred lines, ‘T32’ ‘HC’. Large genetic variation transgressive segregation observed different sites, Guian (GA), Huaxi (HX), Pingba (PB). Two stable novel detected that located within bnlg1014 umc2224 (qHS1) interval on chromosome 1 umc1006 umc1857 (qHS6) 6. Both can be further fine mapping, marker-assisted selection breeding, studies

Maize (Zea mays L.).
Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation is an effective method for introducing genes into maize. In this chapter, we describe a detailed protocol for genetic transformation of the maize genotype Hi II. Our starting plant material is immature embryos cocultivated with an Agrobacterium strain carrying a standard binary vector. In addition to step-by-step laboratory transformation proced...
متن کاملQTL Controlling Masculinization of Ear Tips in a Maize (Zea mays L.) Intraspecific Cross
Maize is unique among cereal grasses because of its monoecious flowering habit. Male flowers are normally restricted to the tassel that terminates the primary shoot, whereas female flowers occur as ears at the terminal nodes of lateral branches. We observed Ki14, a tropical maize inbred that produces an ear tipped by a staminate (male) spike under certain environmental conditions, such as long ...
متن کاملQTL Mapping and Candidate Gene Analysis of Telomere Length Control Factors in Maize (Zea mays L.)
Telomere length is a quantitative trait important for many cellular functions. Failure to regulate telomere length contributes to genomic instability, cellular senescence, cancer, and apoptosis in humans, but the functional significance of telomere regulation in plants is much less well understood. To gain a better understanding of telomere biology in plants, we used quantitative trait locus (Q...
متن کاملThe ZmCLA4 gene in the qLA4-1 QTL controls leaf angle in maize (Zea mays L.).
Maize architecture is a major contributing factor to their high level of productivity. Maize varieties with an erect-leaf-angle (LA) phenotype, which increases light harvesting for photosynthesis and grain-filling, have elevated grain yields. Although a large body of information is available on the map positions of quantitative trait loci (QTL) for LA, little is known about the molecular mechan...
